Connect
Intentionally helping people connect to Jesus and each other by establishing meaningful relationships as we apply God’s Word together.
2 Corinthians 5:18-20
All this is from God, who through Christ reconciled us to himself and gave us the ministry of reconciliation; that is, in Christ God was reconciling the world to himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and entrusting to us the message of reconciliation. Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God.
We have a dramatic core need to be connected. It inspired our earliest needs to hold tightly to our parents’ finger. It also causes us to look at the splendor of creation and long to know the Creator. Wickedness in our lives and those around us has broken our connections with one another and with our generous Creator. But our Creator, through His hove and kindness, has fixed our connection to Himself at the cost of Jesus Christ’s death on the cross.
If we have accepted Christ’s sacrifice, our connection to the Creator is now restored, and we are given the joy of sharing the hope of restored connection with our neighbors: how they can feel the comfort of being linked to others in the church, the thrill of being vital to God’s mission for our world, and the adventure of walking as children of light as Christ continually works in our own lives.
